Sherri Cale
Boarding Manager/Customer Service Specialist Sherri Cale, the kind voice many of you know so well, has been with Gardner Animal Hospital for over twenty years. Our Iowa native keeps busy in her down time competing with Pete, her beloved horse, in ACTHA trail rides, keeping up with her two grown children, Courtney and Dylan, and enjoying time with her husband, Mike and black labs, Emma Jean and Hank. In 2016 she and Pete helped raise money for horse rescues and non-profits around the country, while winning the ACTHA State Championship and placing 6th in the nation, as well as several other honors. When asked what excites her most about working at Gardner Animal Hospital she replied, “I love our clients. We are a home town clinic, the hometown part is very important to me. I love my job.” “I will do whatever I need to to answer questions and take care of their needs” |
Nakayla Hoshaw
Customer Service Specialist/Office Assistant Nakayla, a Wellsville, KS native, joined the team in October 2012 after moving to Olathe to be closer to family. Nakayla received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Industry and Equine Science Certificate from Kansas State in 2010 and previously worked for Kansas State doing research in the Equine Unit. She strives to give our clients and their pets the best experience possible each time they come in, call, or email; “I want to make coming to the vet not so scary, I want them to feel at home.” Nakayla spends her free time keeping up with her husband, daughters, and step-son or at her mom’s riding her horse, Dolly. She also loves spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Riley and Ranger; working on her house; and snuggling on the couch with their two cats, Anna and Elsa. Nakayla is presently taking classes to become a Registered Veterinarian Technician. |
Lisa Allen
Customer Service Specialist Lisa, an Overland Park native and long-time Gardner resident, joined us in September of 2016. Lisa strives to make every client and pet feel at home while here for their visit. Lisa has been active in 4-H since childhood and has gained a wealth of animal knowledge being a member and being a 4-H leader. Lisa, proud mother of five children, loves spending her free time enjoying time with her family and their dogs. |
Veterinary Technicians & Assistants
Charlotte Giesler, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician Charlotte, an Overland Park native, joined us in May of 2017. Charlotte is a veteran of the field, having worded 5 years as a kennel assistant and 10 years as a RVT before joining us at Gardner Animal Hospital. Charlotte is known for her technical skills and has a passion for client education and helping clients feel comfort in their time of need. In her free time Charlotte loves to spend time with her husband, Ryan, daughter, Elise, her two dogs and two cats; entertaining friends; and trying out new restaurants. |
Kate Willcut
Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Specialist Kate, a San Diego, CA native, joined our team in April 2016 after moving from Shawnee to Rantoul to start the next big chapter of her life. Kate is a veteran of the veterinary field, having worked three years in another veterinary clinic and over seven years in a doggie daycare and pet resort as a manager. As a mother of two amazing boys, two dogs, and two cats to keep up with, she definitely stays busy. She is a country girl through and through, loving to spend time at home with her family on the farm riding four-wheelers or sitting around a bonfire with friends and family enjoying homemade barbecue. |

Patty Neil
Kennel Assistant Patty joined our team in 2013. When asked what she loves best about working for Gardner Animal Hospital she replied, "I love seeing our clients and their furbabies every day. The staff is like a second family to me, it's a great place to work." When she is not at work, Patty is a busy mom and grandma, who loves spending time with her dogs, and gardening. |
Melissa Walker
Kennel Assistant/Customer Service Specialist Melissa joined our team in July of 2017. Melissa has a passion for helping animals, especially those that find their way to our shelter. When she's not bottle feeding kittens or making sure our boarders feel at home, Melissa loves spending time with her family including her dogs, cats, and ferrets. |
Holly Rohde
Kennel Assistant/Grooming Student Holly joined us in October of 2016 as a kennel assistant. Since then Holly has realized her passion for grooming and is in training to become a groomer. When Holly isn't helping to make your pets look their best or giving them some extra attention while boarding, she can be found teaching ballroom dancing. In her free time, Holly loves spending time with her three dogs (Chin, Ollie, and Sassy) and her cat (Shadow), and riding her motorcycle. |
