Melissa started at Gardner Animal Hospital in 2017 on the boarding and daycare side, but soon realized her interest is in medicine.
Her true passion lies with neonatal care and giving extra TLC to the puppies and kittens without mamas to care for them. Melissa also enjoys surgery and oncology, and she is looking forward to broadening her knowledge in both specialities.
Melissa has known since she was a teen that she was meant to work in vet med, when she tragically lost her childhood dachshund. She states that if she had known then what she knows now, she could have been able to help him sooner.
Melissa is married to her wonderful husband, Josh, who supports all of her neonatal fostering without hesitation. They have two grown kids; a son (19) and a daughter (21). They also have two pit bulls; Ayla and Iris, and two cats; Ally and Blue.
In her spare time, Melissa is working to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She enjoys spending time with her family and animals, hiking, traveling, making jewelry, and dabbling in nail art.
