FACTS ABOUT FLEAS
The adult fleas you may see on your pet are only the tip of the infestation iceberg. Immature stages (eggs, larvae and pupae) may lurk in and around your home.
Immature fleas are hard to see, but may be found anywhere and infested pet has been.
Fleas can reproduce indoors year-round.
Fleas cause tapeworms in both dogs and cats.
The female flea lays about 50 eggs per day.
Fleas can jump 150 times their own length.
Fleas can bite 400 times a day. If your dog has 10 fleas that’s 4000 bites a day.
Gardner Animal Hospital recommends using a once a month topical solution such as Advantage Multi, or Frontline Plus. These products are a safe, fast acting, effective way to kill fleas.
