Grooming is important for the health and well being of your pet, not just for appearances. Dogs that are prone to matting such as Poodles and Bichons risk skin infections if air does not get to the skin. Keeping coats free of matting is a must, not to mention matting can be painful for the dog. Fleas and other parasites find it much easier to hide in matted fur as well. Many breeds regularly need their ear hair plucked. Your groomer will do this as part of your dogs grooming appointment. This ensures air can reach the ear canal and helps to keep ear infections as bay. Another common problem seen is with dogs nails that are too long. Long nails can cause dogs not to be able to walk comfortably on the pads of their feet. Seniors can particularly have trouble with this. It is a great idea to get your pet on a regular wash/grooming schedule so they not only look good, but feel good as well. March Deals
